Job Profile

Reporting to the National Sales Manager the Business Development Manager will be a dynamic sales strategist with a bias for action who knows how to lead a team and can responsibly manage and ensure profitable growth in the assigned territory through positive planning, deployment and management of resources.

Key Functions

  • Coordinate and participate in effective Business Development activities that result in the achievement of revenue targets and growth for the eastern Canadian market
  • Coordinate sales efforts with marketing, accounting, distribution and technical service department
  • Develop strong and effective relationships with key customers, identify customers’ needs and develop strategic solutions for both existing customers and new prospects
  • Lead, coach and develop team members (5 account managers) to drive sales and achieve performance targets
  • Enforce all sales policies, practices and procedures
  • Keep abreast of product applications, technical services, market conditions, and competitive activities
  • Report on information pertaining to territory including market trends, customer needs, and other critical issues

 

Minimum Requirements

  • University degree in business/management or related disciplines or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of experience in the automotive industry
  • Experience with wholesale and retail distribution networks
  • 3+ years in a managerial role
  • Strong planning and executional skills
  • Sense of synthesis, analytical mind and keep sight of the broader picture
  • Experience managing budgets
  • Exceptional communication skills in both French and English
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Proficiency with technology – MS Office
  • Willingness to travel within Eastern Canada as well as nationally on an occasional basis

 

Desirable Assets

  • Experience working with a CRM
  • Knowledge of the tire industry in Canada
  • Knowledge of tire applications (Consumer and Commercial Tires)
